At least 82 people are dead after a coal mine explosion in northern China, according to state media.
State news agency Xinhua reports the gas blast happened at the Liushenyu Coal Mine, part of the Tongzhou Group in Shanxi Province.
The explosion occurred at 19:29 local time on Friday, with 247 workers on duty at the time.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing at the site.
