Kansas City, Kansas. Argentina defender Cristian Romero is back in full training and is on track for Friday's World Cup knockout match against Cape Verde.
The 28-year-old centre back was forced off with a knee injury during Argentina's 2-0 win over Austria on June 22. He did not play in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Jordan, with Nicolas Otamendi starting in his place.
Coach Lionel Scaloni, who rotated his squad after securing the top spot in Group J, said he was confident Romero would recover for the knockout stage. Romero participated in the full team session in Kansas City on Monday.
Argentina now prepares for its Round-of-32 clash.
