An Israeli strike on a family home in the village of Srifa, southern Lebanon, killed an infant girl and other relatives. The strike occurred on Wednesday as the Saeed family gathered for the funeral of the father. Aline Saeed, seven, who had survived the initial strike on her home, was present during the funeral. Her infant sister, Taleen, who was less than two years old, was among those killed.
Nasser Saeed, the grandfather, described the chaos, stating they felt a "storm landing right on us" during the funeral prayers. He lamented the loss, noting Taleen was "born in the war and died in the war." The Israeli military stated it was looking into the report of the Srifa strike.
This incident occurred amidst escalated Israeli air and ground campaigns in Lebanon, which have resulted in over 2,000 casualties, including children and women. Hospitals in the region report being overwhelmed by simultaneous casualties, many of whom are children, during periods of intense bombardment.
