The United Nations Humanitarian Country Team in the Occupied Palestinian Territory issued a stark warning today. It stated that the expansion of areas under Israeli military control, coupled with severe movement restrictions, is drastically limiting aid access and shrinking the space available for displaced civilians.

The alert reports that Israeli forces have used lethal force to enforce these access restrictions. Between October 2025 and early April, the UN verified 196 Palestinians were killed in attacks near Israeli-deployed areas, including 18 women and 43 children. Many victims were moving through zones lacking clear demarcation.

Humanitarian operations face severe delays and interruptions. Some partners have suspended critical activities, affecting thousands of families. Aid access-restricted areas now cover approximately 65 percent of Gaza's land. Sea access remains prohibited.

Health crises are worsening, with skin diseases and acute watery diarrhea spreading due to overcrowding and poor sanitation. Funding shortfalls persist, with less than a quarter of the 2025 humanitarian appeal met.

Amidst this, the UN Development Programme reported clearing half of the solid waste mountain at Firas Market in Gaza City, removing 250,000 cubic meters of waste and clearing 75 percent of the historic commercial hub.
