In the shadow of escalating tensions in the Iran conflict, the Global Baku Forum concluded with stark warnings from two former Balkan leaders. Boris Tadić, former Serbian President, condemned the U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran, linking it to a worsening global crisis following Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Tadić warned that unilateral actions by superpowers-such as airstrikes without UN approval or attempts to overthrow foreign leaders-undermine international law. "This is a disaster situation," he said, calling for a UN-led reset to restore multilateral order.

Ivo Josipović, former Croatian President and architect of EU accession, echoed the alarm. He highlighted the looming humanitarian catastrophe, with mass displacement and shortages of food and energy.

"This type of war tends to generate new wars," Josipović cautioned. "I fear we may be heading toward a third world war."

Both leaders stressed that diplomatic solutions, not military escalation, are essential to prevent global collapse.
