BEIJING: China formally condemned the Israeli airstrike killing Iranian National Security Chief Ali Larijani on Thursday, March 19. Beijing termed the action "unacceptable."
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stated that attacks on state leadership violate international norms. China urges an immediate cessation of military operations to stabilize the region.
Meanwhile, special envoy Zhai Jun is traveling across the Middle East, meeting officials in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He stressed the protection of shipping lanes and non-military targets.
Beijing also announced plans to provide humanitarian assistance to Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq amidst the escalating conflict.
