Colombia has announced a record bounty of 1.4 million U.S. dollars for information leading to the arrest of Iván Jacob Idrobo Arredondo, also known as "Marlon." He is accused of ordering a devastating bomb attack on a motorway in the Cauca region that killed 21 people and wounded dozens more.

Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez described Marlon as a "demented terrorist" responsible for the Saturday bombing, which left a massive crater and twisted vehicle debris. The explosion critically impacted women traveling on the busy road.

This attack is part of a broader surge in violence, with over 26 incidents targeting public infrastructure in the Valle del Cauca and Cauca regions in two days. The violence is a key issue ahead of Colombia's presidential election.

Marlon is reportedly linked to Iván Mordisco, a leader of dissident FARC offshoots. Security forces believe recent actions against Mordisco's associates may have fueled the current spate of attacks. The bombing occurred just over a month before national elections.
