A coordinated attack in northwestern Pakistan killed at least 14 police officers. Militants first detonated a car bomb at a police post, then ambushed officers responding to the scene.

Images from the aftermath show the building reduced to rubble, with debris and mangled vehicles scattered.

A police official confirmed the death toll, saying three other personnel were rescued and hospitalized. The attack involved drones, according to sources.

The militant alliance Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen claimed responsibility.

The assault threatens to reignite cross-border tensions with Afghanistan, following airstrikes in February. Pakistan accuses Kabul of harboring militants; the Taliban denies this.
