CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment Oklahoma high school principal Kirk Moore tackled an active shooter, preventing a potential massacre.

Victor Lee Hawkins, 20, a former student, entered Pauls Valley High School on April 7 and began firing. After his weapon malfunctioned initially, he aimed at another student before Principal Moore intervened.

Moore sprinted into the hallway, wrestled Hawkins to the ground, and disarmed him. A staff member then secured the weapon. Moore sustained a gunshot wound to the leg but no other injuries were reported.

"There’s not a doubt in my mind that he saved kids’ lives," stated Pauls Valley Police Chief Don May.

Hawkins, who allegedly expressed a desire to emulate the Columbine shooters, is charged with multiple felonies, including shooting with intent to kill. He is being held on $1 million bail.
