The Latvian army reports that several drones entered its airspace from Russia overnight, with two crashing and one sparking a brief fire at an oil depot in Rezekne.
Latvian police confirmed the fire was quickly extinguished. The army warned such incidents may continue as long as Russia's war in Ukraine persists.
This follows similar drone incursions in March, including a strike on a power plant in Estonia.
Europe remains on high alert, with NATO deploying new anti-drone systems and launching the Eastern Sentry initiative to deter Russian violations. The Kremlin denies involvement.
