Drugs with an estimated street value of over S$2 million were seized by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) at Singapore’s land checkpoints this week. Two men, one Malaysian and one Singaporean, were arrested for smuggling heroin, Ice, and cannabis. In the first case, a 29-year-old Malaysian man was stopped at Tuas Checkpoint with 25 drug bundles containing about 14kg of heroin, 2.6kg of Ice, and 190g of ecstasy. In the second case, a 29-year-old Singaporean was detained at Woodlands Checkpoint with 81g of cannabis. The seizures could potentially fuel the addiction of around 8,169 drug users for a week.

Investigations are ongoing.
