At least six people have died and more than a dozen others injured after tornadoes struck Michigan and Oklahoma amid severe storms. Officials confirmed four fatalities in southern Michigan and two in Oklahoma on Friday, with ongoing damage assessments.

The storms uprooted trees, downed power lines, and destroyed buildings. The National Weather Service warned of continued severe weather, including potential thunderstorms and flash flooding across the Great Plains and Texas.

In Michigan, three people were killed and 12 injured near Union City. In Cass County, one death and several injuries were reported, with hundreds left without power. Multiple large structures, including homes, sustained significant damage or were destroyed.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer activated a state emergency for affected counties, coordinating resources for those impacted. Emergency teams are conducting searches and beginning recovery operations.

Oklahoma reported two deaths in Beggs, following a tornado that carved a significant path of destruction in Okmulgee County. Governor Kevin Stitt declared a state of emergency for several counties to provide necessary support and resources.
