A humanitarian doctor diagnosed with Ebola in France has fully recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
French Health Minister Stéphanie Rist confirmed the patient tested negative twice and is no longer a public health risk. The doctor arrived from the Democratic Republic of Congo on June 23rd and was immediately placed in isolation.
Five potential contacts were also isolated for 21 days as a precaution. The minister noted the patient had only mild symptoms.
The Ebola virus remains active in the DRC, with over 450 deaths reported. A new case was recently confirmed in Kisangani, a major city far from the outbreak's epicenter.
