Far-right leaders Marine Le Pen and Matteo Salvini will join Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at a campaign rally in Budapest next Monday, just weeks before Hungary’s parliamentary election on April 12. The event, labeled "the first Patriotic Grand Assembly," comes as Orbán’s Fidesz party trails behind rival Péter Magyar’s Tisza party in opinion polls.

The gathering also includes Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Dutch politician Geert Wilders, all aligned through the European Parliament’s Patriots for Europe group. The leaders share a hardline stance on immigration and skepticism toward the EU.

Orbán’s ally Donald Trump has not confirmed a planned visit to Budapest during the campaign, despite earlier statements praising Orbán’s leadership. Trump had also floated hosting a US-Russia peace summit in the city, but Russia declined participation.
