Since its April 1 launch, NASA's Artemis II mission has captured extraordinary moments from its journey around the Moon.

The crew safely returned to Earth on April 10, concluding humanity's first trip to the Moon since 1972. Key images include the Artemis II launch from Kennedy Space Center.

NASA astronaut Christina Koch became the first woman to travel around the Moon, gazing back at Earth from the Orion capsule.

Unique perspectives included a backlit Earth appearing as a crescent after translunar injection and an illuminated Earth showcasing auroras at both poles, Venus, and zodiacal light.

The mission also captured the sharp contrast of Earth's terminator line, dividing day and night.

Detailed views of the Moon's surface, including the Orientale basin, and dramatic shadows cast along the lunar terminator were also prominent.

Artemis II achieved a rare total solar eclipse viewed from the Moon's far side, lasting 54 minutes.

The crew prioritized safety, using eclipse glasses for solar observation.

The mission concluded with the Integrity capsule splashing safely into the Pacific Ocean on April 10.
