Two unidentified drones crashed near Kouvola, Finland, on Sunday in what officials call a suspected territorial violation.
Finland’s Defence Ministry confirmed the incident, stating that "a few low-flying slow objects" were detected in Finnish airspace. An F/A-18 Hornet was scrambled for identification.
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo suggested the drones may have originated from Ukraine, possibly straying due to Russian signal jamming along the 1,340-kilometer border.
Defence Minister Antti Hakkanen emphasized the seriousness of the breach and confirmed investigations are underway.
One drone fell north of Kouvola, the other to the east. Police have secured both sites pending analysis.
