Hungary's incoming Prime Minister Péter Magyar declared the nation will re-establish itself as a strong European and NATO ally. Speaking to thousands of supporters in Budapest after a decisive victory over Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz Party, Magyar stated, "Hungary will once again be a strong ally representing Hungarian interests, because our country's place is in Europe." His initial foreign visits will target Warsaw, Vienna, and Brussels, aiming to secure frozen EU funds. Magyar pledged to join the European Public Prosecutor's Office to combat financial crimes and restore democratic checks and balances.

Magyar also called for the immediate resignation of President Tamás Sulyok and other state leaders appointed by Orbán, accusing them of serving party interests. "I call on all the puppets who have been in power for the past 16 years to do the same," he urged, specifically mentioning heads of judicial and audit offices. He implored Orbán to avoid actions that could undermine the new government's authority during the transition period.

With nearly 99% of votes counted, Magyar's party is projected to secure a two-thirds majority in the 199-seat Hungarian Parliament, significantly outperforming Orbán's Fidesz party.
