Iran's foreign ministry stated Monday that any US attack, including limited strikes, would be considered an "act of aggression" and would prompt a forceful response. This declaration follows President Donald Trump's remarks about considering such action if Tehran fails to reach a deal with the United States.

"An act of aggression would be regarded as an act of aggression. Period. And any state would react to an act of aggression as part of its inherent right of self-defence ferociously so that's what we would do," said ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei.

Trump confirmed he was "considering that" following questions from reporters. The US and Iran recently concluded a second round of indirect talks in Switzerland, mediated by Oman, amidst a significant US military presence in the region. Further discussions are reportedly scheduled.

US envoy Steve Witkoff questioned why Iran had not "capitulated" despite Washington's military deployment. Baqaei countered that Iranians have historically never capitulated.
