Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani reported on Friday that at least 1,332 Iranian civilians have died in the ongoing conflict. He asserted that thousands more have been injured.

Speaking at the United Nations, Iravani claimed the US and Israel deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, while Iran focused on military sites. He also stated Iran is investigating allegations of striking non-military locations and suggested US defense systems may have interfered with intended targets.

US President Donald Trump previously demanded Iran's "unconditional surrender" and a "supreme leader acceptable" to the US, following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the war's first day. Iravani denounced this as a violation of non-interference principles.

Amidst these tensions, Iran's president announced that mediation efforts have begun. Separately, US officials believe American forces may have been responsible for an apparent strike on an Iranian girls' school.
