Former Iran detainee Siamak Namazi expressed concern for Americans currently held in Iranian prisons, especially during the ongoing conflict. He stated, 'They are the easiest-to-grab punching bag right now.'
Namazi, who was previously detained for nearly eight years in Iran's notorious Evin prison, noted that 'hostages or wrongly detained citizens abroad' often worry about being forgotten.
Emad Shargi, also a former detainee, described the tense environment inside Evin prison during external unrest. He recounted prison conditions amid massive protests in 2022.
Both men emphasized the need for President Trump to address the issue, stating that if aware of the Americans in Evin prison, he would prioritize their release. Currently, at least four Americans are detained in Iran, with two designated as 'wrongfully detained.'
