Iran Fires Missiles at US Forces After Tanker Attack in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB says the country's military fired missiles at US forces Thursday, following what it described as an attack on an Iranian tanker.

Explosions were reported near Bahman pier on Qeshm Island, close to the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas.

IRIB reported, citing a military officer: "Following the attack by the US military on an Iranian tanker, the enemy units in the Strait of Hormuz came under Iranian missile fire and were forced to flee after suffering damage."

Separately, Israeli Army Radio reported that after the United States targeted an Iranian tanker, Iran targeted a US warship destroyer.
