Israel Targets Top Basij Commander in Tehran Strike

In a major escalation, Israel killed Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force, in a precision strike on Tehran. Soleimani, who held the rank of brigadier general, led violent crackdowns on protesters for six years.

The Israeli military says it has eliminated nearly 300 Basij field commanders since the war began, including deputy commander Ghasem Qoreishi. Recent footage shows Basij and IRGC units hiding under bridges and in tunnels to evade detection.

Now, sources report they are using empty schools and kindergartens as cover-raising alarms over the militarization of civilian infrastructure.

Iranian opposition groups have shared videos showing children present at military recruitment lines, suggesting state-led propaganda efforts using minors.
