Israel launched airstrikes on Tehran early Friday, triggering explosions across the city during Nowruz, the Persian New Year.

The military response followed Iranian attacks overnight targeting energy infrastructure in the Gulf region.

Kuwait's Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery was struck by drones, igniting fires at multiple units. The facility, capable of processing 730,000 barrels per day, had sustained damage just one day earlier.

Bahrain reported fires from drone shrapnel hitting a warehouse, while Kuwaiti and Emirati air defenses intercepted incoming drones and missiles.

The escalation comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paused further planned strikes on Iranian gas fields following a call with US President Donald Trump.
