TEHRAN: Iran’s military has warned the United Arab Emirates against permitting attacks from its territory on two disputed Gulf islands.
The Khatam Al-Anbiya operational command stated that any aggression originating from the UAE against Iran’s islands of Abu Musa and Greater Tunb would trigger heavy strikes on Ras Al Khaimah.
The islands, controlled by Iran but claimed by the UAE, are located near the Strait of Hormuz-a critical global oil shipping route.
Regional tensions have escalated since US-Israeli strikes on Iran began February 28, disrupting marine traffic. Iran accuses Gulf states of enabling US operations, though they deny allowing their airspace or territory to be used against Iran.
