The U.S. military has confirmed two service members were killed Friday during an Iranian attack on a base in Jordan. This marks the first U.S. deaths from direct Iranian fire since the early days of the conflict.
The troops were killed as U.S. and partner forces defended against a barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones. One service member remains unaccounted for.
Four other wounded personnel were evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and have since been discharged.
