Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Saturday that a joint US-Israeli campaign has succeeded in "crushing" Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Netanyahu announced that Iran no longer possesses a functioning enrichment facility and that its missile production capacity has been significantly diminished.
Netanyahu claimed the operations prevented Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb, with the latest campaign beginning February 28 following intelligence suggesting Iran's late supreme leader Ali Khamenei sought to further develop these programs.
He also indicated progress in Lebanese relations, stating Lebanon has approached Israel for peace talks. Netanyahu approved the discussions, with conditions including the dismantling of Hezbollah's weapons and a lasting peace agreement.
Lebanon's presidency confirmed a meeting in Washington next week to discuss a ceasefire and potential negotiations with Israel.
