At least five people were killed in a massive wave of Russian aerial attacks across Ukraine overnight, with strikes hitting Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, and other regions.

A 61-year-old woman died when a drone struck an electric train in Kharkiv. One person was killed and nine injured in Zaporizhzhia after a residential high-rise was hit by drones and ballistic missiles.

In Poltava, two were killed and 12 injured in strikes on residential buildings and a hotel. A civilian was killed in Kherson, while others were wounded in Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported Russia launched seven ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles, four guided missiles, and 392 drones. Air defenses intercepted 25 missiles and 365 drones.

President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of the attack in his nightly address, urging continued international support. He emphasized that more protection is critical as Russia exploits global distractions.

Moldova lost its main power link to Europe after a strike in Odesa disabled the Isaccea-Vulcanesti line. President Maia Sandu called the situation 'fragile' and blamed Moscow.

The assault coincided with stalled U.S.-Ukraine talks on ending the war, as Washington's focus shifts toward Iran. Zelensky said peace efforts are being delayed due to the Middle East conflict.

Russia claimed it downed 55 Ukrainian drones overnight. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues limited counteroffensives in the east.
