Lebanon's hospitals are facing a critical shortage of life-saving medical supplies, with vital trauma kits potentially running out within days. The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that mass casualties from recent large-scale Israeli strikes have depleted existing stocks. These kits include essential items like bandages, antibiotics, and anesthetics needed to treat war-related injuries.

Dr. Abdinasir Abubakar, the WHO's representative in Lebanon, warned that another mass casualty event would be disastrous, potentially leading to preventable deaths due to a lack of necessary supplies. He noted that three weeks' worth of trauma supplies were consumed in a single day. Additionally, medicines for chronic conditions, such as insulin for diabetes patients, are also facing stock-outs, exacerbated by disrupted supply chains following regional conflicts.
