An Iranian military helicopter crashed into a fruit and vegetable market in Dorcheh, central Iran, on Tuesday, killing four people. The casualties include the pilot and co-pilot, as well as two civilians on the ground.
The helicopter was reportedly on a training flight when it went down in the Isfahan province. This region is significant, housing a major Iranian air base and a nuclear site.
The incident follows a recent crash of an F-4 fighter jet near Hamedan last Thursday, which resulted in one pilot's death. Iran's aging fleet, impacted by Western sanctions restricting access to parts, contributes to a history of fatal aviation accidents.
