A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines on Monday, killing at least one person and collapsing buildings, police confirmed. The quake triggered tsunami warnings across the region.
The offshore quake hit at a depth of 35 kilometers, about 24 kilometers west of Mindanao island's Sarangani province.
