Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its budget carrier Scoot have announced additional flight cancellations to the Middle East this week. The disruptions stem from the escalating conflict in the region, following US-led strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks.
Affected routes include SIA flights SQ494 and SQ495 between Singapore and Dubai from February 28 to March 7. Scoot flights TR596 and TR597 connecting Singapore and Jeddah are also cancelled on select dates between February 28 and March 7.
SIA stated they are closely monitoring the situation and will adjust flight paths as necessary. The airline advised passengers to update contact details for flight notifications.
Across the Middle East, numerous countries closed their airspace after the US and Israel conducted strikes on Iran. This led to widespread flight cancellations by major international carriers. Aviation analytics indicate a significant number of flights scheduled to and from Middle Eastern countries were cancelled over the weekend, with further impacts expected.
