The Crown Princess of Norway, Mette-Marit, said she was 'manipulated and deceived' by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a recent interview. The U.S. Justice Department released documents revealing extensive communication between the royal and Epstein, including after his 2008 conviction. Mette-Marit, 52, admitted she did not check Epstein's background thoroughly and ended contact with him in 2014. She stayed at his Palm Beach home in 2013 and had email exchanges with him. She has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere praised her for taking responsibility. The princess is also dealing with a lung disease and the trial of her son, who faces rape and sexual assault charges.
