Afghanistan's defense ministry condemned the attacks, calling them a "blatant violation of Afghanistan's territorial integrity" and alleging civilian homes and a religious school were hit. Pakistani officials stated the strikes targeted members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the Islamic State-Khorasan Province, asserting they had "conclusive evidence" that recent attacks in Pakistan were directed by leadership in Afghanistan. This escalation follows a fragile ceasefire agreed upon in October.
