Pakistan conducted overnight air strikes on Afghanistan, targeting what it described as seven militant camps and hideouts near the border. Islamabad stated the action was a response to recent suicide bombings within Pakistan. The Taliban reported dozens of people, including women and children, were killed and wounded in the raids.

Afghanistan's defense ministry condemned the attacks, calling them a "blatant violation of Afghanistan's territorial integrity" and alleging civilian homes and a religious school were hit. Pakistani officials stated the strikes targeted members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the Islamic State-Khorasan Province, asserting they had "conclusive evidence" that recent attacks in Pakistan were directed by leadership in Afghanistan. This escalation follows a fragile ceasefire agreed upon in October.
