Qatar has rejected Iranian assertions that its missile and drone strikes avoid civilian targets, as attacks continue across the country. Foreign ministry spokesman Dr Majed Al-Ansari confirmed attacks have hit Ras Laffan’s LNG facilities, Mesaieed’s industrial complex, Hamad International Airport, and residential zones in Doha.

Al-Ansari stated Qatar’s air defenses intercepted over 90% of incoming threats. Despite a perceived drop in attack frequency, five drones struck yesterday alone. A missile threat prompted an emergency evacuation in central Doha, with law enforcement securing areas like Musheireb-home to global tech and finance firms.

Iranian online threats specifically named Qatari institutions, prompting heightened alert status. The official stressed that civilian danger remains constant: "We hope this will be an exceptional situation for all of us in the region," he said, noting the Gulf’s historical stability.

Qatar praised European defense support, citing joint operations with France, Germany, Italy, the UK, and others. Doha sees this alliance as foundational for long-term security partnerships.

There is no awareness of ongoing mediation efforts, Al-Ansari said, stressing that diplomacy cannot progress while attacks continue.
