Russian missile strikes hit Ukraine's capital Kyiv overnight, injuring at least 10 people, including one child. The attacks sparked multiple fires across the city.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported strikes in several districts, including a fire at a transformer substation. The Ukrainian air force stated Russia launched a barrage of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and over 120 attack drones, with most intercepted.

This follows a major attack last week that killed 30 people. Klitschko called it Russia's "most massive attack" on Kyiv.

In response, Ukraine has escalated strikes on Russia's energy industry, targeting oil refineries and depots. The attacks have caused a fuel crisis in Russia and occupied territories, with long lines at petrol stations and rising prices.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed strikes on an oil refinery in Omsk and other facilities across several Russian regions.

Despite these operations, Ukraine's military commander warned that a turning point in the war remains distant, noting Russia's ongoing offensive plans in eastern and southern regions.
