Russia fired a ballistic missile targeting the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv early Sunday morning. Authorities say at least five people were injured and transported to hospitals. The attack is part of a broader barrage of hundreds of drones and missiles that hit over 10 cities in the past 24 hours, killing at least 10 people and wounding over 70 others.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported that 19 Iranian-made Shahed drones and one ballistic missile struck their targets across 15 locations.
In the eastern Donbas region, two people were killed in Dobropillia and Mykolaivka. In the southern Zaporizhzhia region, two others were killed and five wounded, including a child. Three more were killed in Kherson, where Russian forces targeted 39 settlements.
Meanwhile, Ukraine struck two Russian oil tankers at the entrance to the port of Novorossiysk in the Black Sea. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the vessels were part of Moscow’s sanctions-evading “shadow fleet” and had been used to transport oil. He stated, “Ukraine’s long-range capabilities will continue to be developed comprehensively - at sea, in the air, and on land.”
