Spain has shut down its airspace to U.S. aircraft involved in operations against Iran, according to Defense Minister Margarita Robles.
The move follows Spain's refusal to allow use of its military bases at Rota and Morón in Andalusia. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called the U.S.-Israeli strikes "reckless" and "illegal," asserting Spain’s neutrality.

U.S. planes based in the UK, such as those from RAF Fairford, now must avoid Spanish airspace-either over France or the Atlantic.
Sánchez emphasized Spain's stance against war, referencing past global conflicts. The Iranian embassy in Madrid said Tehran would consider transit requests through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil passage.
Spain's decision underscores its commitment to international law amid escalating regional tensions.
