SINGAPORE: A new Inclusive Justice Law Centre has launched, offering targeted legal support to individuals with invisible disabilities and mental health conditions. Funded by Pro Bono SG and the Rao Family Foundation with over S$700,000 in commitments, the initiative addresses gaps in access to justice.
The centre will deploy dedicated lawyers across partner locations using a roving model, ensuring services reach vulnerable populations where they are. It aims to assist hundreds of cases in its first year, focusing on legal education, advocacy, and caregiver support.
MINDS reports a surge in cases-over 1,750 in just one year-highlighting rising demand. Senior Parliamentary Secretary Eric Chua emphasized systemic improvements, while lawyer Peggy Yee called for justice that protects 'the vulnerable, the misunderstood and the unseen'.
Pro Bono SG’s Sadhana Rai said the model reduces friction in accessing help, bringing critical resources directly to communities.
