Singapore "regrets the failure of negotiations" that led to US and Israeli strikes on Iran, followed by retaliatory attacks by Tehran on several Middle Eastern nations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) urged all parties to return to negotiations for a peaceful resolution, adhering to international law and the UN Charter.

The strikes, launched by the US and Israel, have plunged the Middle East into a new conflict. Nearby oil-producing Gulf Arab countries are on edge due to fears of regional escalation. Tehran reportedly responded by launching missiles towards Israel and other Gulf nations.

Singapore embassies in the Middle East have advised citizens to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. There are no reported Singaporean casualties. However, Singaporeans are advised to defer travel to Israel, Iran, and the wider Middle East region due to the volatile security situation and potential flight disruptions.

Singaporeans residing or transiting in the region are urged to take precautions, including staying indoors, monitoring news, and heeding local government advice. Previously, Singapore had advised citizens to leave Iran amid heightened regional tensions.

Global airlines have cancelled flights across the Middle East in the wake of the attacks. Singaporean travelers are advised to consider alternative arrangements to avoid transits through the region. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. Citizens are encouraged to eRegister with the MFA for contact in case of need.

This latest attack follows a previous air war between Israel and Iran and repeated warnings from the US and Israel regarding Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
