A Kelowna family is shaken after a loved one was stabbed in an unprovoked attack during a morning walk.
Tejinder Singh, 57, visiting from India, was walking along Highway 97 near Highway 33 last week when a young man approached him. Singh does not speak English, and after telling the man "Sorry, no English," the suspect walked away-only to return moments later and stab Singh in the back.
The suspect fled on foot. Singh, bleeding, got the attention of nearby workers who called for help.
He spent nearly a week in the hospital before being discharged. Kelowna RCMP say the investigation is active, but no arrests have been made. They are reviewing CCTV footage and asking for witnesses or dashcam video from the area between 9 and 9:45 a.m. on May 12.
