A Toronto police officer has been charged with multiple offenses, including sexual assault and child luring, following an investigation by Ontario's police watchdog.
Constable Parsa Hazeri was charged in connection with allegations involving a female youth in Toronto between September and December 2025. The Special Investigations Unit said Thursday that SIU Director Joseph Martino found reasonable grounds to believe the officer had committed criminal offenses.
Hazeri faces charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and transmitting sexually explicit material to a minor under 16. Additionally, he is charged with communicating with a person under 16 to facilitate an offense, breach of trust, and careless handling of a firearm.
The Toronto Police Service said Hazeri was assigned to 33 Division and had three years on the force. Police notified the SIU after becoming aware of the complaint in January 2026. Hazeri was suspended the same day, removed from operational duties, and had his police powers revoked.
Following Thursday's charges, the police chief initiated dismissal proceedings and served Hazeri with a suspension without pay. He was arrested at SIU headquarters and released on conditions barring contact with the complainant. He is to appear in court on July 17.
