Twenty Thai sailors have returned home after their cargo vessel, the Mayuree Naree, was struck in the Strait of Hormuz. The attack, claimed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, occurred as the ship transited from the UAE.

Three crew members remain missing, believed trapped in the damaged engine room. The Omani navy rescued the 20 survivors Wednesday.

Thailand is seeking international help to recover the three stranded sailors. Precious Shipping, the vessel’s owner, pledged medical and mental health support for returning crew.

The incident follows regional escalation after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, disrupting global energy flows through one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints.
