US President Donald Trump said he will ask Chinese leader Xi Jinping to 'open up' China to American firms during a summit in Beijing this week. Trump made the remark on social media before departing Washington, adding that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Tesla's Elon Musk are traveling with him on Air Force One. Apple's Tim Cook and other top executives will also be in Beijing for the visit, the first by a US president to China in nearly a decade.

Trump said he expects a 'long talk' with Xi about Iran, which sells most of its US-sanctioned oil to China, though he downplayed disagreements. The agenda also includes US arms sales to Taiwan, rare earth export controls, AI rivalry, and extending a truce in the tariff war. Talks are set for Thursday and Friday, with a state banquet at the Great Hall of the People and a tea reception.

The summit comes amid heightened security in Beijing and as both nations seek to stabilize relations despite tensions over trade, geopolitics, and Taiwan. Trump has touted his personal relationship with Xi, insisting it will prevent a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.
