Six American military service members have been killed amid Iran's retaliation over U.S. and Israeli attacks, officials confirmed Monday. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the remains of two previously unaccounted-for service members were recovered from a facility struck during Iran's initial attacks. Identities are being withheld pending next of kin notification.

In response to U.S. actions, Iran launched strikes targeting U.S. military bases across the Middle East, including in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, as well as against Israel. In response to the escalating tensions, more U.S. troops are being deployed to the Middle East. The U.S. mission aims to prevent Iran from projecting power beyond its borders and from developing nuclear weapons.

CENTCOM also reported that Iranian maritime harassment in the Gulf of Oman has ceased, stating that freedom of navigation will be defended.
