UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh told Euronews in Abu Dhabi the UAE has absorbed more Iranian missiles and drones than Israel since the war began-over 1,800 in two weeks.
She called the UAE a model of coexistence, tolerance, and peace-and warned that opposing those values places actors in Iran’s camp of ‘nihilism.’
Nusseibeh stressed Iran must cease attacks and engage diplomatically with the U.S.-the UAE rejects military escalation but will defend its sovereignty decisively.
The UAE is countering Iran’s Strait of Hormuz blockade, which threatens global energy prices, food security, and consumer costs-from petrol stations to grocery stores.
She pledged safety for 500,000 European residents and affirmed Dubai and Abu Dhabi remain fully operational global aviation and logistics hubs.
National carriers Emirates and Etihad have restored 50% of pre-crisis flight operations. Public confidence, she said, is central to UAE resilience.
The UAE’s economy is structurally sound-diversified from oil into finance, clean energy, AI, and foreign direct investment. A $1.5 trillion U.S.-UAE AI data center initiative anchors its future-industry strategy.
