Two deaths and 20 meningitis B cases linked to Kent's Club Chemistry nightclub have triggered a campus vaccination drive at the University of Kent.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged visitors of the club (March 5-7) to seek antibiotics, with Health Minister Wes Streeting calling the outbreak 'unprecedented'-far exceeding the typical 350 annual UK cases.

The NHS warns the disease, which can rapidly deteriorate, is spread through close contact.

While a MenB vaccine is available (reducing risk by 70-85%), it takes 1-2 weeks to work, so antibiotics are being prioritized for exposed individuals.
