A Ukrainian medic, formerly on Wall Street, described her decision to join the frontlines as the "easiest decision she ever made." Viktoriia Honcharuk was building a career in investment banking when Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

Inspired by her family's resistance, Honcharuk returned to Ukraine to take up a medical role, despite a fear of blood and needles. She stated, "I cannot watch Russia... attacking my country." After brief training, she was deployed, treating not only Ukrainian soldiers but also Russian prisoners of war, adhering to the Geneva Convention.

Honcharuk believes the actions of ordinary Ukrainians have prevented Russian domination, stating, "men and women in Ukraine have decided to stand up to a bully and join the resistance."

She also noted observations from treating Russian soldiers, suggesting Russia is preparing for "something bigger."
