A Singapore permanent resident has been sentenced to 15 months and 12 weeks in jail for abusing her two sons and for a rash act involving throwing her boyfriend's phone from the fifth floor of a housing block. The 36-year-old Vietnamese woman admitted to ill-treating her sons, aged eight and nine, and committing a rash act.

During one incident, the woman struck her older son with a showerhead and repeatedly pushed his head against a wall after he soiled his pants. The boy suffered cuts and bleeding but did not receive medical treatment. The abuse, which involved instances of hitting the boys with cardboard, occurred over several months until authorities were alerted by their father.

In a separate incident, following an argument with her boyfriend, the woman threw his mobile phone and a standing fan from the fifth floor of their building. The items were found on the ground below. The court noted the serious safety risks posed by 'killer litter' incidents. The woman had a previous jail sentence for similar offenses.
