China's top diplomat, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, stated Sunday that the war in the Middle East "should never have happened." Speaking at a press conference, Wang renewed China's call for an immediate ceasefire and expressed Beijing's readiness to work with regional nations to restore order.
Wang described the region as "engulfed in flames" and asserted that the conflict benefits no party. The war began on February 28 with strikes by the US and Israel against Iran, followed by retaliatory actions from Tehran.

China advocates for an immediate cessation of hostilities, emphasizing that meeting force with force only breeds further hatred. Wang called for respecting state sovereignty, rejecting the abuse of force, and returning to political dialogue. He stressed that Middle Eastern affairs should be determined independently by regional countries.
