Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is using battlefield innovations to negotiate defense partnerships. During a meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, Zelenskyy offered Ukraine's cutting-edge counter-drone technology in exchange for ballistic missile support and financial assistance.

Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's anti-drone systems, electronic warfare capabilities, and other innovations form a unique defense system unmatched globally. These technologies are being shared with at least four Persian Gulf nations-UAE, Qatar, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia-to counter Iran's growing drone threats.

However, Zelenskyy stressed reciprocity, noting Ukraine's critical need for PAC-3 Patriot missiles to bolster air defenses. He warned that increased U.S. focus on the Middle East could divert attention and resources away from Ukraine, particularly amid tensions with Iran and Operation Epic Fury. Zelenskyy also accused Russia of sharing drone technology and tactics with Iran to prolong regional instability.

On the ground, Zelenskyy reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to not cede territory in the Donbas region, citing morale and civilian displacement concerns. He urged the Trump administration to maintain focus on Ukraine while addressing Middle East tensions.

Overnight, more than 270 Russian drones struck Ukraine, killing at least five people. Zelenskyy called for international pressure on Iran and continued support for Ukraine against Russia.
